T-P-F Guide to 2019

Can you believe it's already 2019? We are just starting to fill out our new planners (I use the Best Self Journal) and working on our goals for the year. I am sharing the
T-P-F guide to give your year a much needed refresh! Share with me in the comments what you are doing to get 2019 started off right!

(T) - Time Management:

Why wait for Spring? Let’s do a winter cleaning session and get the makeup organized!

As a makeup artist, I used to be so impressed by the number of pallets an artist would have until I realized I could save valuable time by cutting out the excess product and getting organized. My kit can now be laid out and measured at 16x16 which is about the length of a standard hand towel...and that’s for 18 days at Miss Universe!

For the artist kit:

  • Depot all of your eye shadows and blush then organize them by colors (neutrals and brights) into an empty pallet like our new Perfect Pallet available now
  • Our  TPF Certified artists love the Vueset brand pallets for our Picture Perfect cream foundations and lipsticks.  Our Travel Size Picture Perfect Foundations are the exact amount of product to fill each little well in the vueset. The perfect way to build your kit.
  • Label everything with an easy-to-use label maker. I use a Brother Label Maker and it helps me save time so I don’t have to remember what is in every drawer or pot.

For my vanity at home:

  • Clear acrylic stands from The Container store (I sometimes see them at Home Goods or T.J. Maxx)  on top of the vanity and inside the top drawer. Easy to organize everything and see it!
  • Similar to the artist, consider condensing eye shadow pallets with the colors you actually use.

(P) - Play with Pigment:

If the thought of wearing a bit of color in your eye shadow or buying a new lipstick shade scares you...you are not alone! Most of my clients get scared the first time I grab a color they don’t realize is the perfect compliment to their eyes and skin tone. Yes, even brown eyes. I am challenging you to step outside the box and incorporate a new color into your makeup routine!

Blue Eyes

We go opposite on the color wheel so anything in the orange family like peach or apricot makes all blue eyes pop!

Green Eyes

If we are going opposite it’s red or purple but I am not suggesting you grab a fire-engine red eye shadow...instead if you are feeling bold, use Smokin' Hot shadow for it’s red undertone.

Brown Eyes

You can wear just about every color, seriously. I will often take a client into the sunlight and will look for either gold or green flecks to pick a direction!

(F) - Faith, Family, and Friends:

I think it's important to maintain a healthy work-life balance and if you're anything like me, you need to plan it out. At the start of the year I look at the calendar and actually plan vacations with my family and our close friends. (Were thinking of a Disney cruise this year, any suggestions?) It's so easy to get overwhelmed with the schedule of kids activities and work projects once the year starts rolling but if you are planning out time to maintain important relationships you will really notice a big change!

My faith is important to me and I start the year by diving into a new devotional or signing up for a bible study with my church. Here are a few that I love:

My favorite bible study ever is Captivating by Staci Eldridge. (its currently on sale for only $8 on at this link) ..I love it so much, I even named our lavender eye shadow Captivating after it. It's amazing at explaining why women are the way we are and I think every woman should read it! Men will even gain a deeper understanding of the women in their lives if they go through it.

For my engaged and married ladies out there, I am currently listening (on Audible) to Love and Respect by Emerson Eckrich...absolutely loving it!

Beautiful in God's Eyes by Elizabeth George is the devotional/bible study I did at the start of 2018 and I have gone back to it several times over the past year. It dives into what it really means to be a Proverbs 31 woman, which can sometimes be overwhelming.

It's not a devotional but The Sparkle Effect: Step Into the Radiance of Your True Identity by former Miss USA Kirsten Dalton is on my 2019 must read list! She was the first contestant that I worked with that went on to win Miss USA and her heart is really as amazing as you think!

We hope you love our T-P-F plan for the new year. Comment below and let us know if you're going to try any of these tips or what you do to plan for the year ahead.
