Artist Spotlight: Grace Freeman

Our artist spotlight for November is Grace Freeman from Glamed by Grace. You have heard us talk about Grace before when she did an amazing eye look back in March. Grace is a wonderful creative artist and we were so lucky to have a chance to get to know her. She is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi (we love our MS girls) and does travel for makeup clients. Grace specializes in on location pageants, weddings, special occasion and headshots.

What is your background? I competed in pageant and participated in cheerleading my entire life! That is what first sparked my interest in becoming a makeup artist.

What made you decide to be a makeup artist? Honestly, I love making people feel beautiful! The reaction of women when they see themselves after being styled is such an empowering feeling.

What are some of the questions you need to ask yourself before you decide to be a makeup artist? I feel like as a makeup artist, you must sometimes be able to put your opinion to the side and put the client's vision first. Not every client will want what you think they should, and that's okay! It’s about making them feel confident!

Tell us about your business. I started styling friends for proms and dances when I was 16, from there things just kept growing! I am now 20 and have an entire business of my own. I never expected to be where I am, but I am so thankful life has taken me here.

What has been your favorite event/client so far? My favorite event I have been a part of is the Miss Mississippi Teen USA pageant this past year. I had the privilege to style Claire Love, who placed second runner up from the crown!

How did you learn about The Perfect Face? I learned about The Perfect Face from Rebecca Mathis. I had the honor of being styled by her when I was Miss Mississippi High School America in 2015.

Did you take the certification course? How did you hear about the certification couse? I heard about it from Rebecca Mathis, as well as many other amazing TPF makeup artists in the Mississippi area.

Tell us about meeting Danielle for the first time. It was awesome! Danielle is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met! She has so much knowledge to give and I was so eager to learn!

What did you like about the course? I loved how hands on it was! It was amazing to be able to watch Danielle demonstrate how to do a specific look and then actually get to do it ourselves on a model! I also loved how Danielle made sure we were doing things correctly! She didn't just overlook things we were doing wrong, she made sure to correct us.

Would you recommend this course to other students? Absolutely. This course can transform any artist, and take you to the next level!

What is your favorite TPF Cosmetics product? I would have to say my favorite product is the shimmer pigment! I love how it can transform a whole look and make every eye pop!

Any upcoming events you will be attending? I am so excited to be attending the Miss Mississippi USA pageant again this year!
